FIRE BAN is in Effect as of May 29, 2023
The Johnson Township Fire Chief has issued a Fire Ban as of Monday, May 29, 2023.
A fire ban is the prohibition of all outdoor burning. Including brush burning, garbage burning (which is banned at all times), fireworks, pyrotechnics, campfires, and any open-air burning. During this time the Joint Landfill will not be accepting brush and burnables when the ban is in effect.
Conditions are sufficiently dry and impose a higher than usual risk of forest fires and uncontrolled blazes.
Anyone who breaks the fire ban is liable to a fine, and any costs and expenses associated with extinguishing this unlawful fire incurred by the Township or any Provincial Authority.
As of May 29, 2023, all Fire Permits are suspended until the ban is lifted as per Fire Chief Ron Smith.
