Baseball and Soccer Registration 2020

At this time no final decision has been made on whether to cancel or go ahead with these programs. A lot depends on what occurs with the Covid-19 emergency over the next few weeks and what directives are given by Ontario and Algoma Public Health. All playing fields are presently closed and no more than 5 people can meet in a group—if these rules continue, then obviously there would be no ball season. Area Recreation representatives have discussed a few options that would depend on timelines, from going ahead with a shortened season if possible to having some sort of fun tournament at the end of June. We also realize that parents may not be comfortable with registering their children for a program where equipment is shared and gatherings could be up to 50 or more, but we are discussing these issues. If you have any suggestions, we welcome them. You can also let Rec Coordinator Pat O’Gorman know if you will not be registering your child due to the pandemic – having this information will help us have data which may be useful when speaking with provincial and federal Health and Recreation ministries about the effects of this pandemic on recreation programs.

You can: print the form, fill it out, and mail to the township office (1 Johnson Dr., Desbarats P0R 1E0) or drop in the slot at the office front door; print, fill out, scan, and email pogorman@johnsontownship.ca a copy of your registration; or simply send Pat O’Gorman an email with the information request on the form (Child’s name, date of birth, grade, which program, if they need a shirt and what size,  and health concerns). We are not collecting fees at this time but the following is a fee chart for Johnson and Tarbutt Township:
