Notice of the Passing of an Amendment to the Comprehensive Zoning By-Law for the Corporation of the Township of Johnson.
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Johnson passed By-law No. 2012- 685 on January 18, 2012 under Section 34 of the Planning Act, RSO 1990.
Purpose and Effect: The Township of Johnson has passed an amendment to update the comprehensive Zoning By-law to implement the updated Official Plan. The new By-law carries forth many of the provisions of the past Zoning By-law but includes new and updated definitions and general provisions, minor revisions to zone standards, and the consolidation of past amendments. The zone maps (schedules) to the by-law have also been updated. The comprehensive zoning by-law affects and applies to all properties in the Township of Johnson.
Appeal – The last date for filing a notice of appeal of the by-law is February 15, 2012. Any such appeal must be filed with the clerk of the municipality and must set out the reasons for the appeal and must be accompanied by the fee required by the Ontario Municipal Board. Only individuals, corporations and public bodies may appeal a zoning by-law to the Ontario Municipal Board. A notice of appeal may not be filed by an unincorporated association or group. However, a notice of appeal may be filed in the name of an individual who is a member of the association or the group on its behalf. No person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing of the appeal unless, before the by-law was passed, the person of public body made oral submissions at the public meeting or written submissions to the Council of the Township of Johnson or, in the opinion of the Ontario Municipal Board, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.

Zoning By-Law 2012- 685 and the associated zoning schedules is available for inspection in the office of the Clerk during regular office hours.
