TAKE NOTICE: The Township of Johnson has compiled a complete application to amend Municipal Zoning By-law 91-219. The application affects lands located in the Hamlet of Desbarats (see attached Key Map).
AND TAKE NOTICE: that a public meeting for Application No. ZBA-25-4-166, originally scheduled for Wednesday, November 19, 2025, has been cancelled and the public meeting is being rescheduled to Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
AND FURTHER PURSUANT: to Section 34 (10) of the Planning Act, the application file is available for review at the Municipal Office. Please contact the Municipal Clerk to arrange to review the file.

Purpose: The purpose of the application is to better utilize the subject lands and facilitate the sale of the property for future development in accordance with Council direction and Resolution 2025-107. The effect of this Zoning Amendment application is to rezone the subject land from the Multi Residential (MR) to a General Commercial Exception (GC-2) I Holding (H) Zone to permit the subject lands greater opportunity to be developed for residential, commercial uses or a mix of residential and commercial uses.

Need to Make Submissions: The purpose of this meeting is to ensure that sufficient information is made available to enable the public to generally understand the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment. Any person who attends the meeting shall be afforded an opportunity to make representations in respect of the application. If a specified person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to Council before the proposed By-law is approved, the specified person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Township to the Ontario Land Tribunal.
If a specified person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Council of the Township of Johnson to the Ontario Land Tribunal, but the specified person or public body does not make an oral submissions at the public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Johnson before the by-law is passed, the specified person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
If a specified person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make a written submission to Council before the proposed By-law is approved, the specified person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.

Notice of Decision: There is an appeal period of 20 days after a Notice of Decision is given.
