2025 Family Day, Fun….Weekend!
Do we have a weekend planned for you! Join Johnson Township Recreation for a weekend of fun from Friday, February 14th – Monday, February 17th.
Kick off the Family Day long weekend on Friday Night with date night on the ice! Bring your sweetheart out for a Romantic skate around the rink. Public Skate will have a new time of 6pm-7pm, entry is by donation. Listen to the songs that bring us together – request the ones that mean the most to you and your sweetheart. No skates – no problem borrow a pair with a helmet or bring an old pair from home and get them sharpened on site.
Following the Skate the annual Curtis Ford & Jocelyne Stevens Memorial Family Hockey Tournament will kick off with the NEW women’s 3-on-3 opening game! Stick around to cheer on your family and friends for an evening filled with hockey and fun! Bar services will be held in the upstairs hall 8pm-12am thanks to the Bruce Mines Royal Canadian Legion Branch 211.
Want to treat your special someone to dinner? The Copper Bean Canteen is open throughout the evening and has a great poutine you can share!
Saturday and Sunday, head over to the rink throughout the day to watch Families, Women’s & Competitive Hockey teams battle it out for the Golden Stick! Who will be this year’s winner? Will the Campbells hold the title or will there be an upset? Saturday night in the hall will feature the Bruce Mines Royal Canadian Legion Bar, live music, karaoke, and the Copper Bean Canteen. Head out to the rink to support your friends and neighbours battle it out on the ice.
Holiday Monday, February 17th, the Family Day, Fun Day activities start at 1pm outside the Johnson Township Community Centre. Enjoy:

- Nail Driving
- 2×4 Ski Races
- Face Painting
- Donut Eating Contest at 1:30pm
- Shamrock Figure Skating Club Skate Show at 2pm
- Free Skate 3pm-4pm
Entry is by donation, with events wrapping up at 4pm. Bring the family and celebrate all that snow!
