North Shore Slo-Pitch is a house league youth softball program for youth JK-Grade 12 (Ages 4 -18) organized and hosted by four Municipalities: Township of MacDonald, Meredith & Aberdeen Additional, The Township of St. Joseph, Johnson Township and the Town of Thessalon.
Johnson Township also supports the organization of the North Shore Slo-Pitch league for the Town of Bruce Mines, The Township of Plummer Additional, and the Township of Tarbutt thanks to the financial contributions from these municipalities.
All teams are co-ed and league play starts around the 2nd week in May and continues until the end of June for approximately 6 weeks of gameplay. Followed by the year-end Tournaments taking place at the end of June. Away games can take place in Thessalon, St. Joseph Island, and Echo Bay. While the year-end tournaments are held at one of the four host communities each year.
The North Shore Slo-Pitch League strives to create an environment that is welcoming and achievable for everyone and follows the FUNdamental principles of participation, good sportsmanship, and leading by example. Providing a fun, supportive, learning opportunity for everyone to participate and build their skills.
Volunteers are necessary for the success of this program and for each division to run successfully we need volunteers for Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Umpires.
This is a great chance to secure your student volunteer hours! Parents, siblings, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, family friends, students, lovers of Softball are all encouraged to volunteer to help the North Shore Slo-Pitch league run successfully.

The North Shore Recreation Programs support the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport Concussion Guidelines. These guidelines will be made available to Coaches and to the public on the municipal website.
