Employment Opportunity – HNCEA

The Huron North Community Economic Alliance (HNCEA) is a member based, regional economic development collaboration that includes a number of Municipal members located along the North Shore of Lake Huron.

The Huron North Community Economic Alliance has openings for two (2) Economic Development Officers. Reporting to the General Manager of the East Algoma CFDC, these self-motivated individuals will work directly with the HNCEA Board of Directors to plan and coordinate regional community and economic development initiatives by:
• With the Board, identify and deliver projects with regional impact that align with stakeholder priorities;
• Develop and implement a community readiness investment strategy with the HNCEA members (Huron’s North Shore);
• Coordinate and facilitate meetings of the members at locations throughout Huron North;
• Work with HNCEA to ensure the long-term success of the Corporation.

Qualifications:
• Post-secondary education with specific focus in one of rural/community developmentissues, business or micro-economics, is desirable.
• Experience in facilitation, rural planning, project management, business planning,marketing, and/or community economic development considered strong assets.
• Experience in the development and following of budgets is necessary.
• Successful proposal writing experience is considered a definite asset.
• Bilingualism is considered an asset.
• Must have sound knowledge of various word processing, presentation and spreadsheet software applications.
• Must possess excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills.
• Travel is required and reliable transportation is a must.
• Maturity, good judgment, communication, public relations and organizational skills are essential. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and the ability to handle confidential information are assets.
